WHY CHIA BRAN?

Chia bran is a bi-product of the cold pressing of chia seeds to produce chia oil. After the oil is pressed from the seed, the expellant is ground and packaged as chia bran. Which give it a lower fat content but still packed with fibre and these other nutrients:

Nutritional Benefits of Chia Bran:

  • 3x more Iron than spinach
  • 18 amino acids & is a complete protein 
  • 15x more Magnesium than broccoli
  • 6x more Calcium than milk
  • 15x more Omega 3 Fatty Acids than salmon
  • 4x more Protein than kidney beans

This recipes is a snack size, if you where going to make it into a meal multiply the recipe x2-3.

LOW FAT CHOC PB CHIA PUDDING

INGREDIENTS

  • 3Tbsp Chia Bran*
  • 1tsp Avalanche hot chocolate powder
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • 1/2Tbsp Peanut Butter 
  • 1/2-1Tbsp Natvia Sweetener
  • Drop vanilla bean paste
  • Pinch of pink salt
  • 1 Strawberry to top

METHOD
Place all ingredients into your Nutribullet (or similar), blitz till combined.

Pour into your container or bowl this is now ready to eat or you can prepare 4 days in advance!

Top with either strawberry, banana or some Natvia chocolate topping.

PS:

If you don’t have chia bran, and you want to use chia seed you seed to liquid ratio should be:

1Tbsp Chia seed – 1/3cup Liquid.
