 In Paleo, Recipes

Some of us out there a chocolate fans, some are ice cream lovers and some go for the savoury treats, we all have our cravings, I personally love all things food! But if you are a chocolate lover and you are on your Paleo or sugar free, dairy free, grain free journey then you don’t have to give up one of your favourite foods, you just have to find the right way to have it.

This tart is Paleo, Gluten free, Dairy free, Vegan, Refined Sugar free, Egg free and I’m pretty sure its even Raw! But it is still one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted in my life and not only that it is so easy to make. Its so amazing that it will be the dessert I serve the next time I have my friends over for dinner. *wink, wink*

The cacao in this recipe will give you a great hit of antioxidants & magnesium, magnesium?is essential for energy production and critical to heart function and its also believed protect against high blood pressure and heart disease. And the figs are low in calories but high in fibre and antioxidants. So all round this dessert is great! (please remember?desserts are a treat, you eat this daily and its no longer healthy or a treat!)

Time: 15minutes + 2hrs setting time

3/4 cup Natural almond meal*

7 natural dried figs*, preservative & sugar free

1 1/4 cups raw cacao powder*

1 cup maple syrup*

1/4 cup coconut oil*, liquid form but not hot

Prepare 3x 12cm round tart tins, no need to spray or line.

Place almond meal and figs in your blender, blitz till they start to combine. Once you?ve finished pulsing give it a little mix with your flexi spatula to combine any almond meal from the corners of your blender. Place a 1/3 of almond/fig mix in each pan and press into the base and then around the edges, until you have covered the tin.

Rinse your blender and dry so that its ready to create the filling.

In your blender place raw cacao, maple syrup & coconut oil. Blend until well combined and their is no dry powder left, this will only take 1-2minutes maximum.

Divide the chocolate mix between the 3 tins.

Place in the fridge and allow to set for 1-2hours.
